We laughed, "what a great idea a local rugby club to play a few games a year would be." So far we were not wrong!!!!! On Oct 21st 2007 our inaugral game was planned. Beating a Market Harborough side, although a couple of stars did turn out for us (Lenny Newman - Team Manager Northampton Saints) (Neil "The Gorrilla" Etheridge) was a great start for a new club. We have since travelled to Market Harborough to play a more steeled side which again we won!!! So with the 2008-2009 season approaching the first fixture has been planned. With a 100% record at stake training must begin very soon!!!!!!!
13 Out of the 15 starting line up lived in Geddington, Newton or The Oakley's. (Not all on time, not shown)
The story so far.................................. after turning up for the GVFB Barrel trundle in the village 2007 nobody told our atheletes that no fancy dress was required, being the only ones looking gooooood!!!!!!! Before this day no-one in the village had heard of the rugby club. They have now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
